Sun King? by Jacques-Léon Charrier is part of the Disposable project, a multimedia creation that invites us to reflect on the 'throwaway' phenomenon and its consequences for the environment.
The idea of Sun King? project is to evoke the changing face of despots throughout history and the durability of unequal societies; societies established on principles including divine right, liberalism, faith and growth. The project intrinsically highlights our personal involvement in adhering, or not, to these principles. It raises the question of the continuation of despotisms through the ages and of our responsibility as citizens, consumers and therefore decision-makers.
